How did Probot start?
Probot's journey began with a robot software library we wrote for Tasarla Geliştir, a competition run by MEB (the Ministry of National Education in Türkiye). Over time we built on top of that library: Probot Blocks for coding robots with blocks in the browser, and Probot Builder for designing robots on screen and putting them together part by part. Builder is still being developed.
At the start of this year we began making parts. We made the first ones for a course we were going to teach ourselves, then decided to package them as a kit. Today we make the Starter Bot kit for teams that are new to FTC, and we also sell our parts individually.
What do we want to do?
We care about the parts, the coding tool and the lessons all coming from the same place. That is why it means so much to us that a robot designed in Builder can be built exactly as designed with real parts. Our goal is to be the team that brings a robotics curriculum to schools, and the first name people think of for robotics education in Türkiye.
